Facebook has updated it's messaging system recently this year and two changes I found useful for me are Changing account id to your custom usernames and Facebook E-mail service.
On 13th July Facebook launched it's custom Facebook user name and you can get your custom username like :-
You can send and receive E-mails like other normal E-mail services (Gmail, Yahoo etc.) and all mails can be found in other folder of your inbox.
You can manage your Facebook email and your Facebook fan pages mail address as well, which could be helpful in managing your business and personal profile easily just from your Facebook account.
