Recipe: Vermicelli coconut kheer

Here's how you can make this delicious dessert at home

Ingredients: 
Vermicelli 200 gms
Condensed milk 400 gms
Dessicated coconut 2 tbsp
Fresh cream 4 tbsp
Milk 100 ml
Elaichi powder 1 tsp
Dry fruits: cashew diced 20 gm, almond diced 10 gm, pista 10 gm, raisin 5 gm
Bay leaf 2
Ghee 2 tbsp

Method:
Roast the vermicelli in ghee till golden brown (you can also use roasted vermicelli for this purpose). Fry the bay leaves and add to the vermicelli. Add the condensed milk, milk and keep stiring the mixture till it becomes thick. Now fold in the cream gently and stir until the mix becomes thicker and reaches your desired consistency. Put the elaichi powder and add a dash of salt (this is a hidden secret to make a great dessert -the addition of salt!). Now add the dessicated coconut and boil it a little more with the vermicelli mix. When the kheer is suitably thickened, garnish it with dry fruits and serve hot or cold according to your taste.
